Daphne had been thrown into a reservoir to drown, but was saved by a
neighbor of my sister-in-law. My wife agreed to provide Daphne with a
home. This was particularly difficult, because Daphne had a bad skin
disease that gave off a putrid smell and required frequent baths,
medications, and topical ointments. Eventually the disease got so bad
that nothing we could do would diminish her pain, and so we sadly put
her to sleep. Daphne was a very sweet dog.
