Educational Goals for DemoWorld

The first form of training for the beginning storybuilder will be the documentation on the website; the second form will be the DemoWorld. Its primary purpose is to demonstrate how the various parts of the Erasmatron are integrated in the creation of a storyworld. The DemoWorld must be small, so that it is not intimidating. My intention is that, after having read much (but not necessarily all) of the documentation, the beginner will proceed to the DemoWorld. The sequence of operations will be as follows:

Examination (Look but don't touch)

1. Personality traits

2. Relationships

3. Stages

4. Verbs: General displays

5. Keys display

6. Linkages display

7. Decision Script display

Simple testing

1. Screentest of several verbs

2. Threadtest of several verbs

3. Rehearsal

Experimentation

1. Modify personality traits and repeat tests

2. Modify relationships and repeat tests

3. Modify Decision Scripts and repeat tests

4. Modify PlotPoints and repeat tests

Extension

1. Add a new verb

2. Add a new character

3. Add a new stage

4. Add a thing

Expansion

1. Add a series of verbs

Upon completion of this exercise, the novice storybuilder will see the overall structure of the Erasmatron clearly enough to create a storyworld from scratch.
