Another Stab at Deals

I'm going to try again with the dealmaking system, because I am still not satisfied with the design I have so far &emdash; it's too damn messy. The idea I'd like to explore is to create a special set of standard verbs that are built into the basic set. These verbs would somehow provide standard dealmaking functions. Thus, the storybuilder would always jump through them before routing to her own verbs. Of course, this raises the question, what's so special about these verbs? The DecisionScript? I don't think so. This seems stupid.

My brain isn't working today. What's the central problem? Determining the value of a contemplated deal to each of the participants. Wait a minute! What if we used the same emotional reactions that we use in evaluating gossip?

I just spoke with Dave about the technical problems associated with this and they're going to be difficult, but I think we can solve them.

Let's go with this idea. For now, I'll defer detailed technical planning.
